“Disheartening News for Thousands of Devoted Fans as Steven Tyler’s Health Woes Force Rescheduling of Aerosmith’s Final Tour”
Many enthusiasts eagerly anticipating Steven Tyler’s performances during Aerosmith’s ultimate tour, ‘Peace Out: The Farewell Tour,’ received a disappointing update this week. The iconic rock band shared via Instagram that due to health concerns, six scheduled concerts have been pushed back. The affected dates include the September 12 show in Toronto, September 15 show in Chicago, September 18 show in Detroit, September 21 show in Raleigh, and September 27 show in Washington, D.C., all of which have now been rescheduled for early 2024.
Regrettably, Aerosmith’s frontman, Steven Tyler, is unwell. He took to Instagram to reveal that doctors have advised him not to sing for the next 30 days due to significant vocal cord damage.

In a heartfelt statement, Aerosmith begins, “I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. ‘We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.'”
Aerosmith reassures fans that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Questions regarding refunds should be directed to the point of purchase.
Originally scheduled from September 2 (in Philadelphia) to January 26 (in Montreal), the Farewell Tour dates, which were announced on May 1, have faced delays. Aerosmith is now set to resume their tour on Monday, October 11.
The band’s decision to embark on this final tour is a testament to their commitment to their devoted following, especially given the varying ages of the members. As Steven Tyler celebrated his 75th birthday in March, one can only speculate about the physical toll a 40-show tour might have on him. Nevertheless, his history of selflessness shines through.
The lead singer of Aerosmith made a remarkable contribution in 2019 by donating $500,000 to support the renovation of an 82-acre facility south of Memphis, known as “Janie’s House.” Inspired by Aerosmith’s 1989 hit ballad “Janie’s Got a Gun,” this haven provides refuge for mistreated and neglected women who have nowhere else to turn.
Here’s to a swift recovery for Steven Tyler, so he can continue being his extraordinary self.
