On a beautiful spring 2017 day in Gainesville, Georgia, Hannah Simmons was taking her baby daughter to the doctor for a checkup.
However, the journey turned deadly when Hannah’s car struck a truck.
Hannah’s family was crushed by the death. However, a photo snapped from the spot a few days later gave them some hope and comfort.
Hannah Simmons, 23, was taking her nine-month-old daughter Alannah to the doctor’s appointment with her best friend.
Hanna suddenly lost control of her car while traveling, crashing it into a truck head-on. In a moment, Hanna, her best friend, and her nine-month-old daughter vanished.
A man at the scene called emergency services, but he and the other witnesses soon realized they were powerless to help.
On her way to work, 19-year-old Anisa Gannon arrived at the scene of the crash. Taking out her phone, Anisa took a picture of the blocked road to explain to her boss why she would be late. However, Anisa missed something when taking the picture and only realized it later.
The spot where the mother and her child died in the car is illuminated by a bright beam of light that appears to be coming from the sky in the picture.
Anisa showed the victim’s family the picture, and when they saw the beam of light, they broke down in tears. Anisa’s aunt Tara saw and informed her niece that it appeared as though they were traveling to heaven.
The victims’ family has found comfort in the light, seeing it as evidence that Hanna, her best friend, and her nine-month-old daughter have all entered, even though some doubters think it’s only a reflection off Anisa’s car windshield.
Hanna’s mother, Jodi Simmons, said she “absolutely” believed the arresting picture showed a “pathway to heaven.”
