After choosing to file for divorce from her husband because of his adultery, a mother lost custody of her daughter. The daughter ultimately lost interest in seeing the woman since, in her opinion, she was awful. The daughter didn’t contact her mother again until she was unable to pay for college and was out of money.
A woman who married a wealthy man considered herself lucky to have someone provide for her family. He would not only show her parents nothing but nice presents, but he would also pay off her sister’s credit card debt and connect her brother with a respectable company that would offer him a good income.
Her husband’s in-laws loved him and supported him often during difficult times in their marriage, including the initial instance of his infidelity. At the time, the wife had recently given birth to their daughter, Kelly. She felt vulnerable and wanted to end her marriage.
However, her family managed to convince her to pardon the man. Kelly’s need to be raised in a secure home with two parents was used as their excuse for staying. Having listened to her relatives, the woman stayed. She also persuaded herself that she wouldn’t be the ideal wife at the moment because she was expecting.
When Kelly was around twelve years old, her hubby had another affair. By then, she had already decided she wanted a divorce. Her in-laws disagreed, wanting no part of their family to be connected to any scandal. Her parents felt the same way, wanting to keep access to their generous and kind husband.
Despite everything, she filed for divorce and forfeited her child’s custody. Her spouse had the means and the backing of his in-laws to hire the best lawyers. The wife received a sizeable payout on her end as well as alimony.
She tried to schedule visits with her daughter and kept in touch with her. But because of her parents and in-laws, Kelly thought she was a terrible person. They called her mother a hypocrite for not forgiving her father even after he had expressed regret. Kelly avoided her mother as a teenager because she thought she was terrible as a result.
