Actress Jane Fonda traveled to Asia during the Vietnam War. She was photographed with an enemy of America, and the images garnered scathing condemnation. Although Fonda later stressed that she had no intention of doing so when she shared the old photos, many people saw her protest of America’s participation in the Vietnam War as a crime against the government.
Fonda was never formally charged for her involvement in the controversial pictures. Nevertheless, recently, on a Fox News program, a top Trump adviser brought up Fonda’s troubled background and even accused the ill actor of “treason” for taking the pictures in 1972.
Former senior Trump White House advisor Stephen Miller made the disparaging comments about Fonda on Wednesday during a Fox News interview. During his appearance on the conservative entertainment news channel, Miller went so far as to accuse the two-time Academy Award-winning actress of high treason because of the way she traveled to Vietnam in 1972 and spoke out against American involvement in the Asian war on a Vietnamese radio program.
An photograph from Fonda’s trip to Vietnam depicts her riding a weapon designed to fire down US pilots and planes that were at the time flying over Vietnam.
Fonda has made a comeback in the media thanks to her most recent advocacy. Throughout Trump’s brief term in power, she planned rallies in Washington and was even arrested at least once. She is now requesting that Vice President Joe Biden cancel the pipeline plans that President Trump put into effect while in office.
Miller is now using Fox News to battle Fonda and stop Biden from scrapping the Trump pipeline.
According to Miller, people might not remember what Fonda did during the Vietnam War. In North Vietnam, she offered her talents as a prop for communist propaganda. She created North Vietnamese propaganda for their radio station.
He went on to say that she was perched atop their anti-aircraft battery, which was used to shoot down American planes and airmen. Everything she did was treacherous, and I’ll use that word. She was also hailed as a hero?
Fonda apologized to American servicemen for the “Hanoi Jane” image a long time ago. But she has no regrets about being an anti-war campaigner.
She said to Barbara Walters in 1988, “I was trying to help end the killing and the conflict, but there were times when I was reckless and thoughtless about it, and I’m really sorry that I wounded them.
President Biden was recently lambasted by Fonda for not taking swift action to stop the Trump pipeline. She continued by saying that Biden has not done “enough” to stop the environmental catastrophe the project will bring about.
“We are sincerely grateful for what he has been doing. He has achieved a lot of fantastic things. But not enough. lack of guts. not fast enough. Time is crucial, Fonda continued. Scientists estimate that we have less than nine years to reduce our emissions in half. Daily news reports show that emissions are rising rather than falling, and Line 3 is moving in the exact opposite direction.
“We have to put our bodies on the line and do everything we can to encourage our administration to stop giving these permits,” she concluded.
Do you agree with Miller’s assertion that Fonda is a traitor?
