“The sign made her heart break. Patrick, the homeless man, waited helplessly for someone to assist him. He did not request food or money for himself. He was requesting assistance for his best friend. When the man required assistance, an angel appeared.
Despite widespread criticism, numerous homeless individuals have pets. This is not a debate on the subject. Disputes should arise only when a homeless person puts their pet in danger; in most cases, they do not. They sacrifice so that their pet may have a consistent diet, sufficient warmth, and adequate shelter.
Wilma Frice of Houston, Texas observed a person holding a sign that read “Dog in pound, need help” in front of Walmart.
The sign broke her heart to pieces. Patrick, a homeless man, was alone and requesting assistance. He did not ask for food or money for himself. He sought assistance for his best friend, Franklin, who was in the pound because he lacked the $120 needed to get him out.
Frice told People.com that he appeared to be a kind, gentle soul who just happened to have a difficult life. His eyes were filled with desperation, as if he had just lost his dog.”
After receiving the cash from Wilma, Patrick posted the following to Facebook. According to her blog entry:
“I’m homeless, so I’m astonished that he is a wonderful man, and Franklin is a wonderful dog.” I did this because I would want someone to do it for me. I’ve worked with homeless animals my entire life and have dedicated my life to them. We all could be gone in the blink of an eye, and you never know what someone is like or what’s going on in their situation, so I am not a very judgmental person, and I never judge someone by the cover of their book. Until you’ve walked in their shoes, you have no idea what somebody’s life is like.
