A mother will do anything for her children, even asking strangers for help.
The winters in Serbia are rough, with low temperatures and a lot of snow. A stray dog shouldn’t try to raise three puppies there.
A mother dog was trying to keep her puppies safe and warm by hiding in a drain hole.
People in the area saw the dog and called Dg Rescue Shelter, which is the largest no-kill animal shelter in Serbia. Two people went out to try to find the dogs, but snow was covering most of the trails.
Then, all of a sudden, they noticed that one wasn’t covered and noticed marks in the snow. As soon as the men got out of the car, the lost dog ran to them for help. As the rescuers came to get her, she wagged her tail. Help had finally arrived, and his mother was so happy.
When rescue workers looked into the drain hole, they saw that all three puppies were huddled together. They tried to convince them to leave, but they were too scared, so they got a stick and pushed them out of the way. They put Mama in the van to keep her warm and gave her the name Hera.
Once all three puppies were saved, their mother was brought back to them. All of the dogs were taken back to the shelter so they could eat and sleep in a warm place. They will get all the medical care they need and won’t go hungry again.
Hera thanked the people who saved her with kisses and a wagging tail. The three puppies, two boys and one girl, and their mom will eventually be put up for adoption.
The shelter has more than 300 cats and dogs looking for new homes right now. No animals will be harmed and everyone will be cared for until they find homes.
