This story is about a poor Pit Bull named Landis, who spent the first two years of his life in a cage because his previous owners wouldn’t let him out. During these two years, Landis grew so much that his cage was too small for him. Because of this, his body was deformed and he didn’t reach his full height.
Landis was taken to an animal hospital in Georgia by a shelter in Georgia so they could check him out and see if they could fix his flat feet and hunched body. Landis was lucky that the shelter took great care of him. Even though he was in a shelter, he was in a really wonderful place. The shelter then called Second Chance Rescue for more help, and they agreed to take him in right away in New York City.
His body was straightened out with hydrotherapy, physical therapy, and medical care. Even though Landis had been through a lot of bad things in his life, he was still very cute and liked getting attention from everyone he met. He was lucky to be taken in by a kind family near Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Now he can go to the beach and use the sand to make his legs stand up straight.
