Depending on where you live you’ve probably seen lonely cats or even old cats wandering the streets. Many of us would like to take them all home, but that isn’t always possible.
Adopting a stray cat, even if just for a short time, can teach you the meaning of loyalty and gratitude. The Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary saved Nobbs, a deaf cat who was 12 years old and had been through a lot of pain in his life. By the harshness of the streets his past marked, which made him sullen and very rough. But luckily, all of that is behind him now.
Today, he is very happy and loves how much his new human parents care for him.
Old Nobbs was found living in the dark and alone in a dirty garage in the U.S. state of Texas, where he was very afraid of people. His suspicion was understandable, it seems. He had been hurt too much already. He had a lot of trouble. But then one morning a rescue worker named Karyn Poplin from the Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary walked into his life and won Nobbs’ heart with her kindness and compassion.
So, after being hurt by the shamelessness of some men and the cruelty of living on the street, Nobbs now feels very loved by his new family and is happy to be with his humans all the time. He found happiness in these people, whom he treats well as a way to say thanks.
Poplin and his partner, Gerald, mostly help cats who have lost trust in people because they have been hurt. They are the best at getting people to trust again by showing them love and giving them a home full of tenderness.
Old Nobbs gave in to that, of course. Nobbs is a very kind old man who can’t hear at all.
,,Ever since I met him, we’ve never been apart. Without fail, he seeks out my husband Gerald and me to kiss and cuddle every day.” Karyn said, ,,Nobbs turned out to be a very loving and thankful dog.”
The young and caring rescuer also revealed that many other kittens cared for by herself and Gerald. In fact, she says she is taking care of several other people right now. All of them have unique needs and a dark history of violence.
But the case of the old Nobbs is very different because he spent much of his life in pain and by himself because he was deaf. His little face shows that he is thankful, but it also has a bit of bravado. Even though he looks like an angry old man, he is the sweetest and most loving cat in the world.
,,He doesn’t meow, he screams because he can’t control his voice. Nobbs sleeps in our arms, under the sheets. He is the sweetest old man I have ever met.” the woman said. Also, since Nobbs moved into Karyn’s house, he has become close with all his new cat siblings. Every day, he gives them hugs to show how grateful he is that they love him as much as he loves them.
