Rescuers in Puerto Rico found a dog they later named Caci. She had been abused so much that she didn’t look like a dog at all. She was hurt all over, and her face was swollen so much. No one knew who did this to her. The most important thing was that she was now safe and far from the person who hurt her.
She was taken in by rescuers, who gave her the care she needed right away. Doctors were worried because they didn’t know if she would even live. They said they would do everything they could to save her life.
A few days after going to the clinic, the antibiotic she was given was already working. So much of the swelling in her face had gone away that she was starting to look like a real dog. The New York Bully Crew put her story online, which made a big impact on tens of thousands of people all over the world. They all kept track of her every day, and thankfully, things began to get better.
As the days passed, she got better and better. She loved to run around the clinic and was coming out of her shell. She had been through a lot, but she was still such a friendly dog. Most dogs who have been abused by people are shy and nervous around people, but Caci still loved human touch and was very trusting.
Once she was healthy and had been spayed, she was ready to fly to New York, where New York Bully Crew would take her in. She looks a lot better and is doing great now. She is having a great time playing and making new dog friends. Now the only thing she needs is a loving forever home, which she will hopefully find with the help of NYBC.
