Meet Lilica, a stray puppy who was left in front of a junkyard in one of the worst parts of So Paulo. There are many animals and homeless people who live here, like dogs, cats, and chickens. They are all poor, and they do what they can to help each other.
Even though Lilica is just a house pet, she is a great example of love and kindness. A homeless dog’s life is never easy, but she always makes sure that her pups and other dogs are fed.
She walks 4 kilometers each night on lonely, dangerous roads to the house of Lucia Helena De Souza, where she gets a bag of food. Then, she goes back to the junkyard to get food for the rest of her “family,” which includes a mule, a dog, a cat, a lot of hens, and a lot of chickens.
They are all very thankful.
Three years ago, Lilica saw her for the first time when she was looking for food near Lucia’s house. After Lucia fed the dog, it kept coming back every night to get its food. They made a plan to get together every night at 9 o’clock for hugs, cuddles, and a hot meal. Lilica would get an extra piece that Lucia would make.
One time, she saw Lilica look at the bag of food instead of eating it. After a few seconds, Lilica took the plastic bag Lucia had just closed and walked away as usual. When Lucia followed the dog, she found out something that made her cry. Lilica fed her family even though she wasn’t hungry.
Even after he was adopted, the dog kept doing this for three years. Every night, he came back to feed the other animals. She only wants to keep everyone from going hungry.
What a great story!
Let’s give a standing ovation to Lilica and all animal lovers, but especially to Professor Lucia Helena, who took care of Lilica’s needs.
