Rudy Armstrong, a retired Navy veteran, was enjoying some time on his houseboat in North Carolina with his loyal pet, Bubu, when his health started to change in a strange way. He decided to sit down because he couldn’t move his foot because it had fallen asleep. A few minutes later, he realized that one of his arms was no longer moving. This made him very worried because he didn’t have many ways to get help. His loyal Chihuahua-mix dog, Bubu, walked over to check it out and knew right away that something was wrong.
Rudy turned around to face Bubu, but he couldn’t get his phone out of his pocket.
,,Please help me out, Kim.”
Bubu left the houseboat right away. He seemed to understand what his father told him. She ran to the harbor, where she knew what to do, and found Kim, who was in charge of the docks. Brandy Popp, who is in charge of public relations at CarolinaEast Health System, told The Dodo: ,,He stopped in front of me and laid on his side instead of barking, jumping, and licking me like he usually does.”
When Kim figured out what Bubu was trying to say, she went with him back to the boat. She saw that Rudy had called 911 there after having a stroke. As soon as paramedics arrived, Rudy was rushed to the hospital for more specialized care while Kim took care of Bubu.
Because Bubu was brave, his father was able to get help right away and get better completely. Rudy missed his loyal little friend very much after spending many weeks getting better at Carolina East Health System.
