I’m so happy he was rescued, nourished, cared for, and receiving the support he requires to live and develop!
If you adore otters, you can’t help. Remember the cuddly otters holding hands so they don’t drift away while they sleep or the gentle newborn otters sleeping on their mother’s tummy. He is so lovely. Many people felt terrible for this baby otter since his mother abandoned him when he was still too young. After being separated from their moms in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, due to extreme weather, he was found sobbing on the porch.
This is a very dangerous time for otters because they can easily be washed away by big waves. They easily meet dangerous sea creatures that are constantly lurking around them when they are not strong swimmers at this time. Thankfully, he was found by the Scottish SPCA’s National Wildlife Rescue Center in Fishcross, who take excellent care of Buddy. The Scottish SPCA is urging anybody who encounters injured or abused wildlife to call the organization or a nearby wildlife rehabilitation facility. They are extremely vulnerable and challenging to survive without assistance.
Buddy, a 10-week-old orphaned otter, makes friends with Ebb, Tide, and Wave in addition to enjoying milk and fish in this location. He was able to share and console each other, which helped to lessen his grief. Before being released back into the wild, these otters will be cared for for a year. Fortunately, they were carefully taken care of and rapidly adapted to their new environment. When they saw a photo of a really lovely baby otter, many people’s hearts warmed.
They declared their love for him and offered him their best wishes!
I’m grateful you heard his cries. Poor little guy. I’m pleased he got spared. What a lovely, adorable, charming little angel!
