In this tale, Sarge, a nine-year-old dog, is described as one of the finest surrogates for orphaned fawns. The orphaned fawn was just like any other puppy, racing around the backyard and chasing his siblings, when the German Shepherd first encountered him.
The fawn, named Buckwheat, was found and brought home by the dog’s owner. When Sarge first met Buckwheat, he immediately assumed the parental and guardian roles. Buckwheat obviously wanted to feel protected, and Sarge was the ideal nanny.
The dig was eventually returned into the wild after they had a nice time together. But as a result of this tale, Sarge gained notoriety, and he is now devotedly caring for injured and abandoned deer. When a new fawn arrives, he is really thrilled because he constantly thinks about Buckwheat.
