Shelter workers were in for an unusual sight when they found a beautiful purebred husky named Nate. He was wandering the streets like a stray dog. Soon it became clear that Nate was very different from other homeless dogs. His empty, pain-filled eyes made it clear that he had a troubled past, and he was extremely frightened and withdrawn.
When staff scanned Nate for microchips, his behavior finally made sense. The poor husky was taken to a laboratory and subjected to the most brutal analysis procedures for months. Worse, the irresponsible lab had cruelly abandoned him on the street because they were not interested in his ,,mentally unstable” condition.
The shelter turned to the Beagle Freedom Project staff, who already had experience with victims of animal abuse. Together, they found a foster mom who was willing to accept Nate with all his scars. She developed an intensive rehabilitation plan and worked with him for months to overcome the trauma.
Towards the end of the video we see Nate smiling because he is finally ready for his new home. He may look like an abnormal dog right now, but his foster mom thinks he will always be a special fighter for her. Every year thousands of animals suffer and rot in laboratories for the sake of human greed. It’s time to stand up for the victims of lab experiments and speak out against the inhumane treatment of these animals.
