This story is about two helpless puppies found on the street with bloated bellies. The levels of an important blood protein called albumin were so low that the dogs were malnourished. Fortunately, the two dogs were found just in time by rescuers who took them to an animal hospital. The dogs had never had contact with humans and were very afraid of them. So they decided to look at one wall and hold on to the other.
Eventually, however, the puppies were examined by a veterinarian and found to be suffering from anemia due to malnutrition and ticks. This meant that the dogs would need extensive treatment, including a blood transfusion.
The vet removed the fluid from the distended stomach after anesthetizing the puppies so they would not feel pain, as it is a very dangerous procedure.
Fortunately it went very well and the puppies finally woke up and had a normal meal. They now love their caregivers and will be put up for adoption as soon as they are fully recovered. What a happy ending!
