Animal lovers have a lot to say about this story, but no matter what you think, this is a smart dog, writes ilovemydogsomuch. Steve Moore, who rescued Jackson, a three-year-old golden retriever, from a mental hospital. Jackson needed a home and Moore took him in. Moore took Jackson into his home and started working with him every day. In just one month Moore made him do something phenomenal! His trick made everyone who saw Jackson want this dog for themselves, a dog that no one cared about a month ago.
Moore took Jackson to crowded and busy places to work with him and familiarize him with the noise and distractions around him. He sat Jackson down and kept sitting. Then he sat him down and made him sit for a long time. Then he sat him down and kept him sitting while he moved away from him. He repeated this until he left Jackson alone long enough for Moore to go into a store and shop. Since dogs were not allowed in most stores, this was a better alternative than making him sit in the car, where he might overheat. Besides, his hands would not be tied and Jackson could get to safety in case of an emergency.
The last step was to get him to sit down and stay seated with a sign around his neck that said ,,My father told me to wait here”. And Jackson is really good at waiting! Even when there are lots of people around him and people come up to him to greet and love him, Jackson faithfully and wisely waits for his human to return. He is such a good boy!
