A family from New York found the perfect puppy to complete their family at a local shelter. They adopted a beautiful black and white puppy. The puppy was finally on his way to his forever home. Everything was going well, but a week later, everything changed.
A beautiful dog named Brody is settling in nicely in his new home. Eventually, after a week of his adoption, the family noticed his breathing problems. Brody also stopped eating. Worried, they took Brody to the vet to have him checked out.
Their world came crashing down when the vet came back and told them Brody had a ,,severe grade 5 heart murmur that needs to be treated by a cardiologist immediately”. Unable to fund the obligatory treatment, the family searched for help at the shelter. They arrived crying and confirmed the diagnosis. The family did not give up on Brody because they knew he may be put down.
The shelter turned to its partners, including Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs (SCR). They appealed for help for the adorable puppy. While the family waited to see if anyone could help, they went back to the car with Brody. The family and their two children were still sitting outside the shelter, crying and praying that their puppy would get the medical attention he so desperately needed. The lethargic dog was immediately taken to Blue Pearl Specialty Hospital for treatment. Brody had found a forever family and SCR couldn’t let this be the end.
,,We know that unexpected emergencies can arise, and if you have a family that loves their pet, we will always do everything we can to keep the animal with the people who love. Brody is currently admitted to the emergency room of the hospital where he is being treated. SCR is living up to its name and giving Brody a second chance at a long life with a loving family. They are good people who care deeply about his well-being.”
More than 100 people donated to Brody’s treatment. Thank you all!
