A wildlife photographer in Kenya gets a big surprise when he gets so close to a lion since the lion decided to let out an incredible roar and even smiles cheekily at him. Gren Sowerby, 69, is living his dream of traveling the world to photograph animals, landscapes and people.
On a safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya, he approaches the big cat, which immediately blinks its white eyes and growls. At first he is terrified, but he continues to photograph the wild animal and is surprised when it smiles at him.
This impressive picture tells us by itself why it went viral lately!
He shouted: ,,I’m the king of the forest” and then smiled at me, as if someone winked at you and said: Haha!”
,,I was 10-15 yards away and he was crossing a stream with a lion. They had a kill in the bushes and I think he growled that he was full too!” Sowerby described. ,,His size and reach amazed me. It was really unusual for him to roar so much after being so calm and quiet.” Sowerby is a professional photographer For nearly 37 years.
He is happy that he was able to catch the ,,king of the jungle”, and says that ,,You always have to catch something”. Sowerby said he was ,,very pleased with the pictures”. He was just looking at them when he returned. I often do expeditions like this and love photographing wildlife. They have devoted their lives to the safari business, so they are used to seeing cars as well as people.
