Faith was always the family favourite and her owners couldn’t get enough of her. She was lively, agile and very graceful and loved to play and run. But just over a year ago, something terrible happened to her. Faith suffered a severe stroke. The bleeding was so severe that it affected many parts of her brain.

After examining the dog, the doctors gave a disappointing verdict. The animal will never walk again. Moreover, it is unlikely to be able to lift its head, so the best option is euthanasia.

Faith’s owner, Hannah Lee, a 30-year-old American woman living in Atlanta, listened to the forecast with tears in her eyes. She couldn’t believe that her beloved dog could no longer run, jump or take a single step. ,,When Faith suddenly fainted in our garden, we had no idea what had happened. The vet clarified it all and it sounded horrible. We were told she had had a stroke and the prognosis was bleak.” Despite the doctor’s verdict, Hannah and her family decided not to give up and put the animal down. They showed patience by calling for help. They also asked the doctors to do everything to save the dog.

Her first steps were taken three weeks after the stroke. They were very excited, the dog was swaying, but she was moving. Day by day she got stronger and healthier until she could walk freely. The success of the treatment was not just down to the doctors. Hannah and her family actively participated in saving the dog. They gave her massages, trained her limbs and literally lived on a schedule so someone could stay home to care for the four-legged patient.

Her perseverance paid off, and Faith kept recovering. It’s hard to believe, but a year later the little dog is running around the garden again, keeping up with her brother Aberdeen, another dog who lives in the house. The owners say the dog isn’t as fast as she used to be, but all in all she’s still the same girl she always was. Her character hasn’t changed and Faith is still as happy and cheerful as ever.

Hannah is sure that the dog has helped Aberdeen in many ways since he didn’t come forward with his sister. And of course she urges all owners not to despair, but to believe only in the best!
