Dogs are family members and consider their owners as part of their pack. Their loyalty is unwavering and they want nothing more in return. Dogs wonder why they get left at a shelter that’s why they lose their pack and just want to go home.

Hunter, a 6-year-old border collie cross, was surrendered by his former owners to the Houston Humane Society. The owners stated that Hunter couldn’t be reunited with their new puppy. A volunteer was horrified. By this reason he wrote: “Hunter was surrendered to the shelter yesterday because… ready for it? He didn’t get along with their new puppy. I thought the human race couldn’t disappoint me anymore.”
A few hours after arriving at the shelter, Hunter discovered that he was abandoned and that his owners didn’t return. The volunteer found Hunter curled up in the corner of his kennel, afraid to move. She sat down on the floor next to him and tried to comfort him. “Ever wonder what a broken heart looks like? Well there you have it.”
