Dogs have a way of giving a lot of themselves and asking for very little in return. For people with physical disabilities, dogs can change their lives. Such is the case with Barney the puppy and his new best friend, Hugh, an 8-year-old, writes valuable stories

Hugh has been affected by a rare genetic disorder since birth: FOXG1 syndrome . The boy is severely limited in his functions, with structural and developmental brain abnormalities. Hugh has problems with speech, movement and can cry a lot. He also has a lot of difficulty making eye contact.

However, when the boy met Barney, his life changed completely!
The puppy snuggled up to him and the boy reached out to touch and interact with his new friend. Hugh’s mother thought a lot about it, but now there is no doubt about the benefits of having a dog in her family.
