When Andrea Diaz-Giovanni, the young mom from Utah, tried to coax her toddler into saying the word “mama,” her miniature Australian shepherd, Patch, beat him to it.

Patch is a beloved member of the Diaz-Giovanni family, who live in the humble town of Cedar Hills, Utah. They have an adorable nine-month-old boy named Sam. The parents just wanted to capture that wonderful moment when little Sam says the word “mama.”
The boy’s mother, Andrea Diaz-Giovanni, got a surprise though, because instead of hearing her precious boys first words, the dog decided to steal the limelight!
In the video, which can be found on YT, Patch’s ears immediately perk up and he starts listening to his mistress’ commands. He can be heard clearly making a ‘Mama’ sound which has turned him into a viral sensation (Way to go, Patch) This happened way back in 2015, however Patch is incredible in more ways than just this…
Patch is a very loyal pet, and he became especially dear to the Diaz-Giovanni family because he helped their grandmother while she was recovering from a severe head injury after a serious car accident. Patch alerts the family every time he saw her having a seizure. What an incredible dog!
