The person who this story is about is called Luis Pereira. He was born in Portugal but unfortunately he was abandoned by his parents at the age of four. Thankfully he got adopted later, but nevertheless the experience of being homeless had brought him to a very dark path in his life. Unhappily Pereira developed an addiction and therefore his adoptive mother out him out in the streets again.
Blessing in disguise Pereira met Kika, his adorable pup, at the age of two. It’s not that Pereira didn’t receive invitations from many different shelters and groups, but they all had the same condition: Pereira has to leave Kika, and that’s apparently what he cannot do.
Pereira knows best what it feels like to be betrayed by the ones you love the most, and he for sure will not let Kika experience the same thing. He refused to visit a shelter because they didn’t at all allow dogs because of sanitary reasons during the pandemic in the wintertime, where they had to survive heavy rains in a tent.
Pereira says that he knows for sure that he has matured as a person because of Kika being in his life. Kika is under his responsibility, therefore he cannon under any circumstance allow himself to be in the dark since he has to protect her and care for her.
Pereira has a respiratory problem that puts him under a lot of pressure. But nevertheless, despite this serious sickness, he will never ever leave Kika. His love for Kika is admirable. We wish both, Pereira and Kika, only the best.
