Not lang ago, a fuzzy a new case was brought to the New Zealand Massey Wildbase pet hospital. It was a tiny morepork owl. He was brought with a skin infection, which caused him an irritated skin. But the adorable owl was lucky, because the disease was smooth to treat. Nevertheless, there was a little problem.
The tiny morepork owl needed a bath.

Pauline Nijman, who works at Wildbase told, that owls generally don’t like being wet at all, even if the water comes from the rain. Therefore, when the occasion of taking a bubble bath came up, Pauline already knew that the little owl wouldn’t consider this as a favor of the workers.
Pauline told, that it was a big deal for all parties.
In the pictures you can see the tiny owl, which doesn’t seem very satisfied.

The little owl is a bit smaller than other owls, but in great condition. Nijman said, that when the plumage is all wet, the owls look miserable.
The owl was washed with chlorhexidine to adress the infection and tjen rinsed clean. He was NOT pleasef, Njiman wrote.

The tiny animal was washed with medical stuff that cures the infection, after that it got cleaned. The owl obviously wasn’t contented.
After this Pauline dried him up with a soft towel and put him to an air blower, so that it gets completely dry.

He liked being dried up though.

Once he got back to his normal feathery state, the little rescue owl was put back to the hospital’s aviary, where he got to stay with his other morepork owl friends, who as well got rehabilitated in the clinic.
Luckily the little morepork recovered well from his infection.

By chance that one bubbly bath will be enough for the tiny owl to completely recover. Pauline says that it’s a privilege for her, to be able to care and rescue such amazing animals like the little owl.
