AITA for not reacting to my sister’s posts on Facebook?

You wouldn’t believe the drama unfolding over a simple Facebook ‘like.’ One sister’s plea for support turns into an all-out war, questioning empathy and compassion.
AITA for not reacting to my sister’s posts on Facebook?

I barely like people’s posts on Facebook. I only do it if I can relate to the post or find them funny. For about a week or so my sister has non stop texted me asking why I’m not liking her posts. (I hardly see her posts in general and usually don’t see that she’s the one posting them) I asked her why it mattered so much and she told me that I’d be supporting her by liking her posts.

I tried explaining that I don’t like many posts and she started going off saying I’m always on Facebook and that I’m being unsupportive, have no empathy, no compassion, etc. I had barely responded to her because I am a stay at home mother and was pretty busy at the time.

She said ignoring her texts was rude even though she knows I’m a mother. The fight escalated because I told her she was making a big deal out of nothing and I didn’t want to deal with her drama right now. It turned into a big fight about how I’m a crappy person and that I’m emotionally immature for calling this situation dramatic even though to me it is.

AITA?

Here’s how people reacted:

Your sisters got issues that she needs to work through. People get addicted to the attention social media can provide. Your sister is a textbook example of this.

NTA.

>she told me that I’d be supporting her by liking her posts

You’re not the only person who doesn’t have time for this kind of nonsense.

>I’m emotionally immature

The emotionally immature person in this story isn’t you.

Wow, NTA. I would go no contact or limited contact with her, she sounds needy & toxic, looking for validation.

Info: supporting her in what way? Is she selling something? Going through a hard time? How is liking her posts “supporting” her?

NTA. And my sister knows if she made this demand I’d not only NOT like her posts, I’d probably unfriend her! Your sister is outrageously needy.

Conclusion

In a shocking turn of events, this family feud over social media validation reaches a boiling point. You won’t believe how this sisterly spat concludes.
